Pricing and Cost Questions

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house in Tampa?
Interior painting costs vary based on several factors including the total square footage to be painted, the number of rooms, ceiling height, the condition of existing surfaces (and how much preparation is required), the quality of paint selected, and any specialty work such as accent walls, trim painting, or cabinet refinishing. For a standard three-bedroom Tampa home, interior painting typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000 depending on scope and finishes. We provide detailed estimates tailored to your specific project, so you’ll know the exact investment before any work begins.
Exterior painting costs depend on the size of your home, the number of stories, the type of exterior surface (stucco, wood, HardiePlank, concrete block), the condition of the existing paint, the amount of preparation and repair needed, and the quality of paint and primer used. A typical single-story Tampa home exterior runs between $3,500 and $8,000, while two-story homes generally range from $6,000 to $15,000 or more. Stucco homes — which are extremely common in the Tampa Bay area — often require additional preparation including crack repair, which can affect the total cost.
For exterior painting projects, pressure washing is always included as part of our surface preparation process. It is an essential step for ensuring proper paint adhesion in Florida’s climate, and we never skip it. We also offer standalone pressure washing as a separate service for homeowners who want to clean their exterior surfaces, driveways, pool decks, walkways, or lanai enclosures without necessarily repainting.
We require a modest deposit to secure your project date on our schedule. The deposit amount varies based on the scope and total cost of the project. The remaining balance is due upon project completion and your satisfaction with the finished work. We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience. All deposit and payment terms are clearly outlined in your written estimate and contract before any work begins.

Project Timeline and Scheduling Questions

How long does it take to paint the interior of a house?
Most interior painting projects for a standard three- to four-bedroom Tampa home take between three and five working days, depending on the number of rooms, the amount of preparation required, and whether we’re painting walls only or also doing ceilings, trim, doors, and closets. Single-room projects can often be completed in one to two days. Larger homes or projects involving extensive preparation, such as wallpaper removal or significant drywall repair, may take longer. We provide a realistic timeline estimate as part of every proposal.
Exterior painting timelines depend on the size of your home, the amount of surface preparation and repair needed, weather conditions, and the number of coats required. A typical single-story Tampa home exterior takes three to five working days from pressure washing through final coat. Two-story homes or homes requiring significant prep work (extensive scraping, stucco repair, wood replacement) may take five to seven working days or longer. Tampa’s afternoon thunderstorms during summer months can also affect exterior schedules — we plan our exterior work to accommodate Florida’s weather patterns, typically starting early in the morning during the hotter months.
One of the advantages of living in Tampa Bay is that painting can be done year-round. However, the most ideal conditions for exterior painting are during the drier months from October through May, when afternoon rain is less frequent and humidity levels are somewhat lower. Interior painting can be done comfortably any time of year since climate-controlled environments are not affected by outdoor weather. If you’re planning a major exterior project, we recommend scheduling during fall or winter for the most uninterrupted working conditions.

Paint and Materials Questions

What brands of paint do you use?
We use premium-quality paints from trusted manufacturers including Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and other industry-leading brands. We select products based on the specific requirements of each project — considering factors like substrate material, environmental exposure, desired sheen, and durability expectations. We do not use contractor-grade or budget paint lines, and we never substitute cheaper products than what we’ve quoted. If you have a preference for a specific brand or product line, we’re happy to accommodate that as well.
For exterior applications in Tampa’s hot, humid, and UV-intense climate, we recommend 100% acrylic latex paints in satin or semi-gloss finishes from premium product lines. These formulations offer superior UV resistance, flexibility to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction, excellent moisture resistance, and built-in mildew inhibitors. For interior surfaces, the best paint depends on the room’s function: flat or matte finishes work well in low-traffic areas like bedrooms and formal living rooms, while satin, eggshell, or semi-gloss finishes are better for high-traffic areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and trim because they’re easier to clean and more resistant to moisture.
Our standard practice is two full coats of topcoat paint over properly primed surfaces. This ensures consistent color, full coverage, and proper film thickness for long-term durability. In some situations, such as extreme color changes (light over dark or dark over light), heavily textured surfaces, or surfaces with staining issues, a third coat may be necessary. If additional coats are needed, we’ll identify that during the estimate process so it’s reflected in your pricing upfront.

Preparation and Surface Questions

Do you pressure wash before painting the exterior?
Always. In Tampa’s climate, exterior surfaces accumulate mildew, algae, dirt, oxidation, and other contaminants that must be completely removed before new paint can adhere properly. Painting over these contaminants is the single most common cause of premature paint failure in Florida. Our exterior preparation process always begins with a thorough pressure wash, followed by adequate drying time before any primer or paint is applied.
For interior projects, we cover all floors with clean drop cloths and move or cover furniture with protective coverings before any painting begins. Switch plates, outlet covers, and light fixtures are removed or masked. For exterior projects, we cover landscaping, walkways, pool decks, outdoor furniture, and any other surfaces adjacent to the work area with plastic sheeting and drop cloths. At the end of the project, all coverings are removed and your property is returned to its original condition.
Yes. Minor drywall repairs — including filling nail holes, dings, small cracks, and minor surface damage — are included as part of our standard interior painting preparation. For more extensive drywall repair, such as large holes, water damage, or texture matching, we can include that work in your estimate as an additional line item. We also offer popcorn ceiling removal for Tampa homeowners looking to modernize their home’s interior.

HOA and Community Questions

Do you work with HOA communities?
Yes, we have extensive experience working within HOA-governed communities throughout the Tampa Bay area. We’re familiar with the color approval processes, architectural review board requirements, and community guidelines that many Tampa neighborhoods enforce. We can help you navigate the approval process, prepare your color submission, and ensure your project complies with all community standards. Many of the master-planned communities in Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Brandon, and Riverview have specific painting requirements, and we know how to work within those frameworks.
Absolutely. We maintain relationships with major paint suppliers and can help you select colors that will both appeal to your personal taste and meet your HOA’s requirements. Many communities provide an approved color palette, and we can obtain the specific paint codes and provide samples for your review. If your HOA requires a specific format for color submissions, we can help you prepare that documentation.
